After watching both videos the Information R/evolution and the vision of students today, the Information R/evolution video talks abut how information used to be just paper, with pen or pencil, but now with technology, some or most of the information is digital. it evolved, the information now HAS NO FIXED or SET SHAPE OR FORM, there is no one type like there was before. The second video, Vision of Students Today, is about how students are spending there time and money on something there probably not even going to go into when there graduated. many students are wasting thousands of dollars on books they wont even use and a lot of the time aren't even paying attention in class. I found that information, but the information revolution video was confusing to me at first but it was very informational.
Both of the videos were very informational but they both told us the information in a unique way which i liked a lot. the Information R/evolution video was in my mind about how since information used to be just paper in file but now it is digital. which means that no one can say that information comes in one form anymore, because information that is digital does not have a set or fixed form. The Vision of students today Video, tells me that students are basically wasting their time in school learning about a specific field, when technology is in front of them. technology is great but i think it shows that it is used in the wrong way at schools.
I thought that the R/evolution video was very confusing but it showed that really everything has been changed into technology. It showed that something that used to only come from a book or a file can be accessed really anywhere in any form. But the other video showed that kids are just wasting time in school on their laptops. The spend thousands of dollars on books and things that they don't even use. The teachers that they have don't know their names and they teach things that the students probably won't even need to know in the real world.
Information R/evolution is about how technology has evolved. Information used to only be on pencil and paper, but now there are millions of websites with information on them. With the information before the web was created other people couldn’t edit or put their opinion on other peoples writing, but now since we can write comments on the web we can get more peoples opinion on the web. There is more than one author to pieces of information.
A Vision of Students Today is about how students slack off in school. They waste money and learn about things they won’t even use. We’re hoping that in the future technology can fix this problem and get kids on the real road to success. If kids are just going to go to college to go on facebook, talk on the phone and goof off, then what’s the point in going? The only thing they will get out of it is years and years of debt that they will need to pay off.
I thought the R/evolution video was pretty cool. It described how we have a complex but organized system for categorizing and filing documents in the past, but today, the documents can be freely altered in any form and still be the same thing. The other video was a little odd in the fact that it's true. The students would spend thousands of dollars on things that they wont use in college. The teachers also teach stuff the students most likely won't need to know in the real world. Its weird b/c ive noticed that we are already seeing that occur in high school.
i agree with amanda. i thought that it was confusing, and i had to stop it a couple times to read what it said.after reading it a few times i understood what is was saying about how technology is changing everything from laptops in school replacing pencils and paper, to the world outside school
Man, i know i was really late on this but i was looking on the wrong blog spot sorry, and my summer just picked up pace so i fell behind and I'm just trying to catch up.
okay so for the information R/evolution it was a little hard to understand at first but i think i got it. the old way of organizing information was to classify it as a certain thing and give it a category, and put it in a certain place in that category and gave it a form, were now we basically reversed it, we now have keywords and search engines and information has no form or physical shape.
As for the second video the vision of future students or what ever, it was a lot easier to understand.but it didn't shock me all that much because those teacher are paid to follow a curriculum and teaching teamwork and how to problem solve isn't in that curriculum, so students, depending on career choice, are never taught anything they need to know. its... Tragic
After watching the Information R/evolution video, I feel like were really lucky. Things used to be only on paper, but now with the web, for the most part, it is all digital. The video tells how there is not set shape, or form that information takes; information just is. I see the Information R/evolution as the future.
The Vision of students today video was extremely informational. It was definitly a good video. If you have time to sit there and pause it a few times in order to be able to read it, it makes it easier to understand. And it's true, that even in highschool, we see this happening; everyone on facebook during class, texting and not really paying attention cause the technology is deems more important.
I feel like the Vision of Students Today video was needed. It shows how much time is used on other things in class, rather than what students should really be doing. We waste time on facebook, texting and such, when really we could be doing something much more useful. Students are wasting their money sitting in class on facebook, and texting. It's not worth going to college, if that is the goal. All the student ends up with is a large sum of debt in the long run.
The Information R/evolution video was extremely informational. It explained how everything used to be on paper, written in pencil, yet now everything is surrounded by technology. Technoloigy rules our lives. We depend on it tremendously.
information r/evolutuion was basically stating how information has changed over years from being found in books to being found online. not only can you find everything in books online, but you can find more of some things. almost every bit of information found on the internet has been found in books, it is just put more conveniently for people to access.
a vision of students today shows that every student today has knowledge of technology. knowing technology has proven to be bittersweet for students. technology will be used more than anything in the future. most occupations will be based off of technology, so knowing it, and how to use it, will make it able for students to get a job dealing with technology. although it can be helpful in that aspect, it can also be a nuisance. it can get students into trouble because they spend most of their time on the internet fooling around, or chatting with others. other technology, such as cell phones, t.v., and radios/ipods. can be a distraction to their studies as well.
I think that accessing information is so much easier than it used to be. Now, all you need to do is go online, and type in what you want to know.
